Anirban Saha born 1986, Kolkata, India, completed his post-graduation from Rabindra Bharati University, Kolkata, in 2016. His works, which record his flaneur-like observations of the city of Kolkata, show the persistence of the past - the old memories, habits and the way of life - into the modern present, which is rapidly transforming under the impact of modernization. Many of his subject-matters emerge from his everyday encounters with the city, which he sees as an impure, mixed temporal entity, a dichotomic narrative of old/new, past/present, changed and unchanged and so on. Anirban has participated in many group shows including Annual Exhibition of Birla Academy of Art & Culture, Kolkata 2020; All India Art Exhibition at the State Gallery of Art, Hyderabad 2019; Charukala Exhibition, Kolkata 2019; National Exhibition of Art by Lalit Kala Akademi, at J.J. School of Art, Mumbai (2019); CIMA Award Show, Kolkata 2017; among others. He was awarded for oil painting in the All India Art Exhibition organized by Camel Art Foundation in Kolkata in 2015. Anirban Saha lives and works in Kolkata, West Bengal.
