Daina Mohapatra born 1982 Odisha, India is an artist with a distinct feminist outlook. Although she studied painting at Delhi College of Art, she works with a wide range of disciplines and mediums, showing multidisciplinary approaches to art practice. She explores the problems of sexuality and gender identities in both private and public places, locating the body as a force-field of contestations. Her careful choice of mediums indicates how the domestic skills can be imagined as suitable aesthetic means to work on the issues of woman’s life and labour in India and elsewhere. Daina has exhibited her works in many group shows including: National Exhibition of Art, Lalit Kala Akademi 2020; Rustic Footmarks at Durbar Hall Art Centre, Kochi 2020; Woman in Art at National Gallery of Modern Art 2019; Holy Now, By Religare arts.
