Emami Art Online Documentary Film Festival
Curated by Ushmita Sahu
July 16 - July 31, 2020
The 1st Emami Art Online Documentary Film Festival programme that has been conceptualised and curated by artist, writer and curator, Ushmita Sahu. The festival will focus on the award winning films by four important and lauded Indian documentary Filmmakers – Haobam Paban Kumar, Miriam Chandy Menacherry, Pankaj Rishi Kumar & Supriyo Sen. The festival programme includes Online Film Viewing, Conversation with Filmmakers and a Panel Discussion on Documentary Filmmaking in India.
This online platform of film viewing is a response to the pandemic and the new forms of online interactions that the situation has given rise to. Although, these online platforms cannot replace inter-person interactions, we hope that by creating interesting parallel viewing spaces we can add value to this period of in-betweenness.
We also hope that a digital online festival will be able to reach a wider audience cutting across spatial-temporal boundaries.
Together, let us create an important platform for exchange of ideas.
