Kcc Wikipedia Edit-A-Thon

One of the most frequent criticisms against Wikipedia is that there are fewer, and less extensive, articles about women and topics that are important to women. This is because the dominant majority of volunteer Wikipedia editors are male. Let’s correct this oversight together, shall we?

Kolkata Centre for Creativity is committed towards equal representation of women in art and culture. We bring to you, in association with Access for All, a KCC Wikipedia Edit-A-Thon to correct the course of representation on the world’s most popular online encyclopaedia.

Join us for an all-day communal updating of Wikipedia entries on subjects relating to gender, art and feminism. We will be focusing on female personalities from history and art of West Bengal.

This is a complimentary event. We will provide tutorials for the beginner Wikipedians, reference materials, refreshments and stimulating conversation! We look forward to having you help us make Wikipedia more equal.
