Medium: Paper weave, archival prints of letters and photographs from artist’s family archives
Size: 24.00 X 32.00 inches
Dak Ghar, the name inspired by Rabindranath Tagore’s famous play, is a weaving of letters sent to the addresses of different houses my family lived after the partition with the images of those houses. I look at the letters and the images of the houses I have never lived but grown up listening to their stories. Like Amol, the protagonist of Tagore’s play, I also imagine myself as part of the memories and stories of the houses.
