Medium: Nepali handmade paper, cloth, water colour, ink
Size: 45.60 X 36.00 X 36.00 inches
In this work, I made a dress of Nepali handmade paper and painted it randomly with watercolour and ink. I fashioned the head like a helmet, dividing it into two and sewing them together with yarn. I created texture by piercing the surface with a needle. The textures express my anxiety, sexual desire and fears. I want to describe the divisive and confusing situation of identity crisis and homophobia in today’s society. The dress is like a space, where I can get instant relief by hiding my identity. It makes me feel safe.
