Richa Agarwal is a distinguished patron of the arts and cultural leader, committed to preserving Bengal’s rich artistic heritage while supporting its contemporary evolution. Drawing from her background in commerce, entrepreneurship, and business leadership, she brings a unique perspective to arts management and institution-building.

 

As the Chairperson of Kolkata Centre for Creativity (KCC) and CEO of Emami Art, Richa has developed platforms that encourage engagement with art, craft, and cultural practices across diverse communities. Her initiatives include contemporary art programmes, inclusive projects such as Art for All and DEAI-focused efforts, along with initiatives dedicated to documenting artists and preserving creative histories.

 

Her contributions to the arts have been recognised through several honours, including The Telegraph She Awards 2025 for Entrepreneurship, the FEMINA Achievers’ 2024 East Award for Excellence in the Promotion of the Arts, the New Indian Express Group DEVI Award in 2022, and the Times Power Women Award in 2018.

 

Under her leadership, KCC has emerged as a significant cultural institution, creating accessible and meaningful platforms for artistic dialogue, exhibitions, festivals, and knowledge exchange. She also serves on the Board of the Asia Society India Centre and is a member of the International Leadership Council of the New Museum, New York. She was the President of the Ladies Study Group for 2025–26.
