Priya Sen is an independent filmmaker and artist with an embodied and eclectic practice with video and sound. Her work may be described as part keeping record, part poetry, part documentary, and part cinematic gesture. Sen’s work has been screened at festivals and venues in India and globally. She received an MA from Jamia Millia Islamia, Delhi, and an MFA in film and media arts from Temple University, Philadelphia. She was a Harvard Radcliffe Fellow and Harvard Film Study Centre Fellow through 2023-24.
Mehdi Jahan is a filmmaker, video artist, and film pedagogue from Guwahati, India. He works as an Assistant Professor of Direction at the Department of Direction and Screenplay at Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute, Kolkata. His films have been screened and exhibited at several festivals and exhibitions nationally and internationally, including the International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR), The Millennium Workshop (New York), Fronteira International Documentary and Experimental Film Festival (Brazil), Garage Museum of Contemporary Art, Moscow (as part of Moscow International Experimental Film Festival), FILMADRID, etc.
The screening and conversation are part of the collaboration between EAEFF and the Anusutra initiative by the Department of Direction and Screenplay Writing at SRFTI.
No Stranger at All has been screened in many places, including the 5th Kochi Muziris Biennale 2022; Experimenta India, Bangalore, 2023; Berlinale Forum Expanded 2023; Prismatic Ground, New York City, 2023; Bangalore Queer Film Festival, 2023; IDSFFK, Kerala, 2023.
