Amitabh Chakraborty is a film director and film editor. He is an alumnus of the Film and Television Institute of India, Pune. He has directed two fiction feature films: Kaal Abhirati (1989) and Cosmic Sex (2012). Kaal Abhirati, an avantgarde Bengali film composed of long static shots and a surreally disintegrating narrative remains a critical and cult favourite. It won the Special Jury Award at the National Film Awards. He has directed several documentaries, notably the documentary feature Bishar Blues on the fakirs of Bengal and Kitsch Mitsch, a film on the paintings of Hiran Mitra. He has also extensively edited documentaries over the last twenty years. 

 

Anirban Datta is a versatile screenwriter, filmmaker, and pedagogue working across cinema, video, and performance art. A graduate of Satyajit Ray Film & Television Institute (SRFTI), Kolkata, his debut film Tetris premiered at Cannes (2006). He has directed & produced acclaimed documentaries like Chronicle of an Amnesiac, Bom/One Day Ahead of Democracy, .In for Motion, and Wasted, winning three National Awards and screening over a hundred festivals which include Cannes, Sundance, IDFA, Rotterdam, Dok-Leipzig, Yamagata, Kochi-Muziris Biennale, IFFK, and IFFI.

 

The programme is in collaboration between EAEFF and the Anusutra initiative by the Department of Direction and Screenplay Writing at SRFTI.
