As a public-facing programme under The River in the Sky: A Solo Exhibition by Sibaprasad Karchaudhuri, Emami Art presents a discussion on abstraction in Modern and Contemporary art in Bengal, with a focus on Karchaudhuri’s practice shaped by his non-representational abstract language and memories and experiences of the people, places, and cultures he has encountered.
This discussion will feature artist Sibaprasad Karchaudhuri alongside academic and writer Dr Nandini Ghosh (Assistant Professor, Department of Fine Arts and Design, Sister Nivedita University, Kolkata), and academic and artist Rishi Barua (Assistant Professor, Department of Sculpture, Kala Bhavana, Visva-Bharati, Santiniketan) – who will be the moderator and introductory speaker.
