EMAMI ART EXPERIMENTAL FILM FESTIVAL 2022: EA LOCUS IN FOCUS

9 - 13 November 2022

EAEFF 2022

Inspired by the positive feedback from its 2020 online documentary film festival organized during the lockdown, Emami Art took a step forward with an Experimental Film Festival scheduled from 9th to 13th November 2022. The festival presented out-of-the-box films that redefined the language of cinema, whether in narrative, aesthetic, or technological terms.

The festival was part of the EA Locus in Focus programme, aiming to bridge the gap between central and peripheral practices in contemporary art. In the debut year, the festival featured a versatile range of avant-garde films distributed across various categories. Selected by a panel of eminent jury members, fifteen films from east and northeast India were screened in the competitive category.

The festival featured three curated sections highlighting noteworthy works in the experimental genre. Along with the screenings, these sections were designed to create a discursive space intended to spur new conversations around the topic.
